Representing Sound Diplomacy at the Creative Economy Roundtable in the Maldives
We’re proud to share that our Chief Economist, Eduardo Saravia, recently represented Sound Diplomacy at a policy roundtable on the creative economy in Malé, Maldives. The event was convened by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, bringing together global experts to explore how culture and creativity can drive sustainable, inclusive growth.
Eduardo took part as a member of the Global Creative Economy Council (GCEC) – an initiative led by the British Council and the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre (PEC) – alongside representatives from UNESCO, UNDP, and other international institutions.
His key message? Interinstitutional collaboration and a shared sense of purpose are essential to unlocking the full potential of the creative economy – especially in countries with dynamic tourism sectors, such as the Maldives.
