Hull Music Cities: Second Wave of Speakers Announced

The second wave of speakers has been confirmed for the Music Cities Convention, taking place in Kingston upon Hull from 10–11 June 2026.

Building on the strong international foundation set by the first announcement, this new cohort brings together voices from Sweden, South Africa, Germany, France and across the UK — each working at the forefront of how music drives meaningful change in cities, communities and industries worldwide.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Emma Andrau, Umeå

  • Sally Currie, Drake Music

  • Charlotte Dryden, Oh Yeah Centre

  • Nils Fischer, Nachtrat Leipzig

  • Jake Groshong, Playing for Change Foundation

  • Eddie Hatitye, Music In Africa

  • Teresa Moore, A Greener Future

  • Ahmed Saqer, Palestine Music Expo

  • Kath Wynne-Hague, Hull City Council

A programme built for real-world change

This wave of speakers reflects the breadth of topics the 2026 programme will tackle, with conversations expected to span:

  • Nighttime culture and city governance

  • Sustainability and green events

  • Disability, access and music technology

  • Cultural resilience and international development

  • Creative economy and placemaking

Across two days of panels, workshops, roundtables and networking, the Convention continues to be designed as a working forum — one that moves beyond discussion toward practical, transferable solutions.

Alongside the conference programme, delegates will experience a citywide music showcase across grassroots venues, as well as the Music Cities Awards, celebrating global innovation in music-led development.

A global conversation, hosted in Hull

With over 300 delegates expected, Music Cities Convention 2026 brings together policymakers, placemakers, cultural leaders and music industry professionals to exchange knowledge, share best practice and build long-term partnerships across sectors.
